Reserve Officer Training Unit (ROTU)

Assalamualaikum and hye !
Did you ever heard ROTU?

ROTU also known as PALAPES nowadays.

ROTU is a unit to train volunteer reserve officers from undergraduate students for the armed force in Malaysia. Those who complete training will be commissioned as sub-lieutenants in the army and air force or second lieutenant in the navy.In UKM all we have is Palapes TD (Tentera Darat).

Well here i want to share that i join Palapes as my unit uniform. Our training wasn't as hard as a regular training. However its quite challenging. Once you join you need to prepare not just your physical but also your mental. People used to ask me that am i okay in Palapes ? wasn't is tiring ? can you manage your time ?

Well to be honest yeah. I even questioning myself sometimes. Why am i there joining Palapes. But it's all about MINDSET. First, if you sincerely join it there's no such REGRET question. But if you're in following your friend you better quit.

Yes it is tiring. But not all the time. Physical Training is your daily activity every time you have training. It started after the dawn till 0800 am. After that you will have classes learning about military such as the transport, the weapon and marching.

About managing your time. So far i still manage to submit my assignment on time and do my work well. But if you ask about revision time. it's all on you. For your information among 102 of us as Palapes Cadets, there are many of us got dean list for first semester and the others still manage to get above 3.0. And you know what most of the people that i know keep questioning me about my study their result was even worse than mine.

I didn't mean to being condemn people but this prove that everything is depends on your effort. even though you're the busiest person in the world. If you have that EFFORT don't worry. God will simplify your affairs.

This is my Platoon

This is our morning Physical Training

Thats all for now, see ya next blog

With Love
